Disposable Lenses
Disposable lenses are becoming more popular today than many other types of contact lenses.
The reason why is that they are very convenient, healthy for your eyes and are affordable. Most contact lens prescriptions are suitable for disposable lenses, including astigmatism, and bifocal lenses.
There are 3 types of lenses that can be worn and then disposed of. They are chiefly defined by the amount of time they can be worn. Daily disposables are, as the name implies, worn for one day and then disposed of. Weeklies can be worn for 1 to 2 weeks before being discarded and replaced. There are lenses that can be worn for a month, called frequent replacement lenses.
One reason most people choose to wear disposable contacts is they are one of more healthy options. Disposable lenses offer the lowest risk of eye infections because the lens that is taken out of the packaging is completely sterile.
